Event Details

In the aftermath of the Pearl Harbor attack, FDR received a letter from the baseball commissioner concerning the propriety of proceeding with the 1942 baseball season. FDR responded to the inquiry expressing the value of baseball in time time of war. This session, with Jeffrey Urbin from the FDR Presidential Library and Museum, highlights the relationship of various Presidents and America's favorite pastime.
