In this luminous solo performance, vibraphonist and composer Chris Dingman invites the audience into his expansive sonic world. Hailed by the New York Times as a “dazzling” soloist and composer with a “fondness for airtight logic and burnished lyricism,” his music has earned him praise as “an extremely gifted composer, bandleader, and recording artist” (NPR).
Playing selections from his critically acclaimed album Embrace, as well as his transportive, improvised journeys, and even his own unique take on jazz standards, Chris brings together a set of diverse influences into one gorgeous, sonically immersive experience.
Chris’s music merges jazz and global influences with a strong sense of atmosphere and wonder, emotion and playfulness. His improvisations call in a deepening state of trance, with swirling textures, soaring melodies, and undulating pedal tones that bring the listener on a journey to a transcendent place.
Join us for a special afternoon of unique and beautiful music.
